On this page you'll find information about the village of Trébrivan
Trébrivan is a small agricultural village in Central Brittany, just on the border of Côtes d'Armor and Finistère. It's peaceful and quiet, but although off the tourist trail is within easy reach of the market town of Carhaix-Plouguer, which is only five miles away and offers a full range of shops, restaurants and leisure activities. Carhaix also has rail and bus links to other main towns.
From Trébrivan it is an easy (if uphill!) walk to the Sentier du Petit Train, a footpath/cycleway along one of the many old railway routes that crisscross Central Brittany. This one links Carhaix-Plouguer with Saint-Méen-le-Grand, a distance of over 110km.

Trébrivan also has its own family run boulangerie, open seven days a week (at least, it was last time we were there). The proprietors are very friendly but French-speaking only ("une baguette s'il vous plaît" does the trick). Bread is a little cheaper in the supermarkets but nowhere near as good. The shop also offers basic groceries - butter, eggs, ham, fruit and a small selection of ciders and wines. The boulangerie is just behind the main church from Le Bout De Sac.
What else does Trébrivan have to offer? Well, in terms of facilities, that's about it. And that's exactly how we like it - it's quiet, and seemingly not much happens. As a holiday destination it's ideal for a relaxing holiday of "little adventures". If your idea of heaven is spending an evening watching a summer sunset over open countryside whilst swallows and swifts dart about above you, to be followed in the dusk by bats flitting overhead; if you fancy the idea of rising when you feel like it and pottering over to the boulangerie for your croissants, followed by a gentle stroll on the towpath of the nearby Nantes-Brest canal to pretend that you're working off those buttery calories, then Trébrivan just might be your kind of place.
Just as an aside - if your idea of heaven is clubs, bright lights and nightlife, Trébrivan is almost undoubtedly not for you!
